Shadow Thief

He was once a scarecrow.
His job was to watch the fields,
Day and night, sun and moon.
He was very diligent but found he was lonely.

One particularly bright day he realized he had a friend.
His friend stayed with him until the night came.
Then the friend grew smaller and smaller as the bright moon rose.
But during the bright middle of the night, the friend disappeared.
He searched and searched but he was unsuccessful.
And before he went to sleep he said
"I will catch this friend of mine and make him stay with me forever"

So the next morning,
when he awoke the friend was there.
Determined to be lonely no more
he ripped his limbs from the post on which he was mounted
and caught that unsuspecting friend.

From there on he went through towns and cities
Finding more and more friends as he went
and capturing them to keep them forever.
So that he would never be lonely again.

Yeah, story that goes with it this time. ^^ This is dedicated to my friend (who knows me in real life) I thought he might like something darker as opposed to my regular bright and cheery~
